A few weeks ago Ronnie and I headed to the Lake District to try out our new Sandero tent. We stayed at Waterside House campsite which was located just on the shore of Ullswater and offered spectacular views across the lake.
Unlike other campsites, Waterside house didn’t have pitch numbers but asked that you didn’t pitch too close to other tents. We liked this as it meant we could choose where to pitch our tent, and of course we chose a stunning spot overlooking Ullswater.
The campsite had good shower and toilet facilities, a small shop, laundrette, play park and wifi which we found limited to certain areas. Only a ten minute walk away was Pooley Bridge, a small village with pubs, cafes, gift shops and a pier to enjoy a boat tour of the lake.
For a small fee of £1, the campsite’s shop would also charge phones and laptops which I was very grateful for. Although it can be nice to switch off and take in the surrounding views, they were sometimes so stunning that I just had to share them!
