This year I’ve became really interested in photography. Despite having a DSLR for 3 years, I’d never actually ventured out of automatic as I was clueless about the other settings! It dawned on me that it was pointless having such a good camera if I wasn’t going to use it to it’s full potential so I began looking into photography courses around Newcastle.
A lot of people I knew on social media recommended Neil Atkinson’s courses so I booked onto 2, one to discover my DSLR and the other to photograph bridges and waterfalls. I’d wanted to photograph slow dreamy looking water for ages!
Both courses were really enjoyable and the group size was just right. It was reassuring to hear that others had only ever used automatic mode aswell.
I’ve since been practising using aperture mode and even experimented with shutter speed a few months back to capture some light trails across the Tyne Bridge!
I recently bought a zoom lens which I’m looking forward to using on two more of Neil’s courses within the next month.
I like to think that I’ve really improved my photography this year so thought I’d share some of my favourite photos! I particularly enjoy photographing nature and landscapes.
